Victor Wooten has a bass player named Anthony Wellington, great guy, great bassist,
He also has used Billy Sheehan, Steve Bailey, and Adam Nitti.
last week I had the opportunity to watch a 7 piece bass band.

Victor Wooten and Steve Bailey. The thing I like about them is that they now how to interact with eachother so well. I think it also helps that their basses(VW fretted/SB fretless)are different, as well as their playing styles.

I've seen Stanley Clarke with a backup bassplayer.

As well, there are a number of performances with three or four bass players. Spinal Tap with "Big Bottom", BX3 (Stu Hamm, Billy Sheehan, and Jeff Berlin), The Day Bass Players Took Over the World (Steve Bailey, Bill Dickens, Vic Wooten, Oteil Burbridge), and Bass Day '06 (Vic Wooten, Stanley Clarke, and Marcus Miller on one stage. That's after Bx3 had their run about the stage)

All wicked cool stuff.

This is the only alternative/rock band with two bass players I know, they had a bunch of smallish hits in the 90s.

there is a band called valeyra in brock texas that has two bass players...i hate their band..but i thought i would mention them..hahaha..if you are into that metal screamo stuff..then maybe you will like them..hahah

im not into bands with more than one bass player..it is sorta lame..especially when you want to try to play a song that they are playing!

(and kira roessler happens to be one of my idols, her work with black flag was great, she is an amazing lady)

Since when? Last I checked they had a 2 string bassist, a 3 stringed guitarist, and a no stringed drummer.

I was gonna say Ned's Atomic Dustbin, but someone got in before me

Local Aussie band Pre-Shrunk consisted of two bass players and a drummer - and they rocked supreme. They've split up now (though they re-formed for a quick show at the recent Warwick Bass Day in Melbourne).

Huh, I watched a clip of them on letterman: Is that the same thing as Mark Sandman did with Morphine on a few tracks? 1 bass string and 2 guitar strings?

I know they were friends, Mark Sandman and Prez's 3 stringist.
