Mats & Morgan, if you please...

Mats Öberg is the keyboard player, Morgan Ågren is the drummer. As is frequently mentioned, they have played with Frank Zappa.

Well, my all time favorite band since the late sixties, and, incidently, also was derived from Frank Zappa, is "Little Feat". Still rocking nearly forty years later. Stood about 30 feet away at center stage for a two hour show two years at a Harley-Davidson rally. First saw them in 1971 when Lowell George was still alive and seriously kicking. Phenomenal musicians with a unique blend of Texas R&R and New Orleans/Cajun funk.

Pat Metheny Group does it for me. I never seem to get tired of their music.

Pat Metheny is probably one of the biggest living music geniuses, if not one of the biggest musicians and composers ever. Below, I added a few great songs, but there's plenty more of them. I couldn't find a version of Minuano close to the original, but that's one of my absolute favorites. Check out the bass solo in "Jaco", that pretty cool.
