I just stole their Rock Spectacle CD from my sister and noticed that the bass player on there straight knows how to rock out while fitting in with the style and sound of the band. There's nothing really technical in there but it just sounds GOOD. Does anyone know who it is and if he's got any other projects out there?

Jim Creegan. He also has a project with his brother, Andy, called the Brothers Creegan. They're really nice guys. Jim's a great bass player.

Jim Creegan for the most part uses an upright bass, too. Which in my eyes makes him much cooler than their music.

Yeah, his upright lines during the live version of Brian Wilson are awesome (especially during the buildup to the end).

Definately an under-rated player.

Does some nice bowing in their cover of "Lovers in a Dangerous Time" as well, don't hear bowed bass in pop music very often.
