Hey. Just a random survey, but who are your favorite bass players? Mine are I.C.S. Vortex and Henkka Seppala/Blacksmith. I want to hear all responses from bass players of all genres.

I have way to many to list. Right now since I'm playing in a modern sounding hardcore/metal (more metal than hardcore) band, I'm really listening to guys like Arif Mirabdolbaghi, Dan Briggs, and Mic Todd. I'd rather play in a relaxed, alternative band, but the guys I'm playing with are good friends and musicians and it's starting to go somewhere. But I digress.
If I had to pick one idol, it would probably Michael Manring. It's not just his skill, but how emotional some of his music is. 'Selene' is one of my favorite pieces of music, it's so beautiful. That's part of what I want to do with music. I want to be able to express emotions in a way I can't with words.

The point is that this thread should be in the Bassists forum and not in OT.
