Bass contributions to the CDs came from Jack Bruce of Cream, John Entwistle of The Who, Mike Watt of Minutemen, Les Claypool of Primus, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Chris Squire of Yes among others.

My favorite track is "Soulshine". Although I don't think that he played on that track, I thought Dave Schools did a great job overall. He was probably my favorite.

Chris Wood played on "Sco-Mule", with John Scofield on guitar and Bernie Worrell on organ.

The Deep End version of "Soulshine" had Willie Weeks on bass, Little Milton on guitar and vocals and Chuck Leavell on organ/wurlitzer.

I'm just going to assume you've seen the Deep End documentary made by Mike Gordon...right?

Oddly enough, Jason Newsted is the only bass player not appearing in the film...I would assume it to be related to contractual obligations with Metallica...

Reminds me to pull out that DVD and watch it again!

My only quibble with it is that it focuses so much on Warren and not enough on the bassists - but it's always like that.

I kind of agree since I'm a bassist and it was a bass themed DVD.... but Warren is deserving of the spotlight. The man can sing and play his butt off!

That he certainly can - and write too!
