read in several places that Bassida of TC Electronics fame is going to take the bass chair on the forthcoming Prince tour of Europe.

I've heard that Bassida (a.k.a. Ida Funkhouser and Ida Nielsen) will be touring with Prince this time around, and that John Blackwell will be back on drums, as well.

I liked her in Zap Mama, and I dig Prince, but, man! - I'm sure getting tired of that *click-n-snap* tone everyone seems to love.

Well she's definitely got the chops, singing, appearance and likes Jazz basses. (Prince's preferred bass for all his music) so congratulations to her. That is a VERY demanding gig from what I hear and you have to be fully committed to get it!
