Boz Burrell is an excellent bassist. Anyone agree? did he play a fretless on something like Bad Company (the song)?

He is really cool. If you like Bad Company , check out the King Crimson album Islands and the live album Earthbound or anything from 72-73. He sings pretty well and plays an very good fusion/rock improvisational style.

IIRC, it was an Ampeg fretless with the scroll peghead.

I have to admit, his playing doesn't strike me as all that special, but I have to give him props in a sense for having the guts to learn bass completely from scratch (under Robert Fripp's tutelage) in order to play in something as demanding as King Crimson. Most people in that position would've fled in terror.

Great Player! A early influence on me......some nice greasy grooves on the first couple Bad Co albums.
