So what bassist writes the bast songs? Not just bass solo parts/albums but like parts for the whole band. Nikki Sixx gets my vote again and Gene Simmons is an ok bass player but wrote some good stuff to. Any genre even though the two I presented were of the same one.

A few songs that come to mind are Kuru/Speak Like A Child, Three Views of a Secret, John And Mary, Fogotten Love (piano concerto written for Herbie Hancock), (used to be a) Cha-Cha. His compositional skills were amazing. |

Even though he doesn't write lyrics often, when he does the result is very moving, listen to Tears off of 2112 for a good example). |
