That'll be Tommy Shannon - great player.
Have a nose around his website...
http://www.tommyshannon.com/ & under "What's Up" hit "the "Frequently Asked Questions" bit & No 5 may go some way to answering.

If all else fails & you're still burning to know, drop him an e-mail!

Pete.

Tommy Shannon rocks the house. He's played a lot of great bass..."Tightrope" makes me feel like I'm walking on one.

Has anyone recreated Tommy's nice warm (but not overly thumpy) tone on "Little Wing" or "Lenny" for example? I've tried to EQ my P-Bass with Chromes to sound like his P but I just can't get it .

I'm not sure what he recorded with, but I saw him in concert in '89 with SRV. He played a Fender Jazz Bass and Hartke 4x10 cabinets. Not sure about the amp. His tone was fantastic--one of the best bass tones I've ever heard.

He used a P for awhile but his main axe was (and still is) an old '62 Jazz, the thing's beat up now and looks awesome. He said in an interview that he's got all sorts of fancy custom boutique basses but his favorite of all, both in feel and tone, is his Jazz. "It's just an old piece of wood with some old pickups, and I love it." He's the man, one of the best blues bassists ever IMO.
