In a "If Metallica was a motorhead cover band, and played one original in the second set" kinda way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kRWwxCPyjw
It's actually not bad, the riffs are right on. He's not great as a front man. Selling believability at his age in front of a metal power trio can't be easy, and while I wouldn't say he fails, it is the weak link.
In trying to find vid, I saw that the guitar player from Staind has now made them a 4 piece.

Pretty ballsy calling the band "Newsted". He's a solid bassist, but I'm not sure if that warrants naming his band after himself.

Naming the band after him is an easy way to do that.

it is ok but not enough for me

| | | | Couple riffs are cool, but the vocals are bad and there is no real hook. Sounds like a B side to a Metallica record. |
