An irish band called The Script appeared on Letterman last night and the bassist was playing a Sadowsky bass. Does anyone know who he is?

It was a nice touch that he was given the sonic 'real estate' to play the multi - stops, how refreshing to hear something so nice in modern music .
The band / song were a breath of fresh air considering all the over-produced, under-written 'music' we're subjected to these days.

Personally, I prefer the likes of Andy Irvine and Paul Brady when it comes to Irish music. I even like the Clancy Brothers!
Here is a photo that includes the bass player. He is playing a Metro UV70 5 string.

| | The Dialogue // Bassicsgear Endorsing Artist: Maxon (Godlyke), Dava Control | | Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Maryland | | I tuned in last night as well to see The Script perform. I caught them on a tv show Live at Abbey Road and thought they were pretty solid. I also enjoyed the bassist tone (Ashdown, Avalon, Sadowsky). There are some other notable bassist playing Sadowsky's that I think have great live tones too (Wilkenfeld, Madden, Lee, Coutts etc.)
I picked up The Script's record and thought that it was pretty solid too. The bassist on the record I believe was Paul Inder, however live the bassist you are looking for is Ben Sargeant.

I live in MD and have never been able to get my hands on a Sadowsky bass. Even on tour I have yet to find a place that sells them. Last time we were playing NYC I stopped in Rivington, Ludlow and a few others hoping to find some, but was unable. I was pretty bummed. I know we'll be back in the city within the next few months as we're currently talking to a few labels in the city. I'll do some better research and make sure I get my hands on one
Hope that helps you!
Cheers.

Sorry you have not been able to get your hands on a Metro or an NYC. Come to the shop the next time your are in The Big Apple. Even tho we are in Brooklyn, we were only minutes away from Rivington and Ludlow Guitars when you were here last.
Here is a link to my Metro dealers as well: http://sadowsky.com/dealers/index.html

I will definitely come next time we are in the area...should be within the next two months.
The last time we played the city was in the middle of August. We were wrapping up a month long, full east coast tour that ended with a showcase at Arlene's Grocery. I tried to find Sadowskys earlier this year when we played The Mercury Lounge too (same area within a block or two) so naturally I was out of luck.
I'm definitely going to follow the link and do better research the next time we are in the city. I'll make sure to find them this time.
Thanks for the info. Roger.

Ben used my Thunderfunk and Accugroove setup that night |
