Which bassist would you vote for President?

Sign in to disble this ad
Greetings TB'ers,

Being an election year I wanted to pose a question to the group. If you could elect any bassist (dead or alive) to be President, who would you choose and why? Mods, plz move if I'm in the wrong place.

You can select a player based on anything. Musical contribution, effectiveness in respective band, cool factor, it's totally up to you.

Criteria: 1) Must be a bassist. 2) Must be famous for BEING a bassist (no political figures who also "happen" to play bass) 3) Hey, why are you still reading this? Get on down the thread and VOTE already!

Here, I'll start us off. I would vote Sting for President because of his environmental policy. I think he would protect the oceans and rainforests enabling us to find new medicinal cures.

Who's next?

I hear what you're saying. Would you think Gene to be a better President or Secretary of Treasury? Isn't he always out to make more $$$?

I can't think of any bassists I'd consider ready, willing, and able to serve as President. That's what politicians are for.

Sid Vicious. Or do they have to be living? It seems a corpse might do a better job than some recent president(s)...

Les Claypool yes. A bassist would be a perfect candidate. Weve had a president with a drummers mentality for the past 8 years, maybe its time for an upgrade.
