Like the question says , I wanna transcribe some cool walk lines . I'm currently addicted to 'So what' by miles davis , with Chambers holding the low , and want to through more songs which involving beautifull walking basslines . Any suggestions ?? I would just get some Miles davis , but getting his entire thing is too huge , so it would be great if you guys would recommend albums or something in that sort . Thanks .

Also, Jerry Jemmott on B.B. King's "Completely Well".

Thanks . | Definitely stating the obvious here, but you'd do worse then listening to some more of PC's work. My favorite walking bassist, just endlessly inventive and always interesting and grooving and musical. Him and Philly Joe Jones had a near telepathic understanding, too.
+1 on Ray Brown, too, and Neils Henning Orsted Pederson. |

However, I suggest finding as many recordings with Mr. PC as possible, but try and branch out from there. Thats what I did. |

They have had many bassists between them, but they are carefully chosen and if they are playing in those bands, you know they can walk that bass all over town. |

Ed-
Page 3...there is an example where bar 1's 1st note is a "D" (chord = Bb)-
Bass notes in this bar = lD-Ab-Bb-E-lF etc--L
This works for me, but at this point, you were talking about playing Roots on Beat 1...playing something other than a Root on the 1st Beat pops up on Pg. 10.
Did I catch a typo?
