hey everybody...I'm new in town just moved down from central New York. Any Atlanta bassists out here??? Trying to get to know some musicians on the ATL scene, maybe even hook up with a band. I primarily play R&B and gospel, but i love and play almost all music. Drop me a line if you're from the ATL.

| | | | I'm just getting back into playing again after a ten-year break, but I'm also looking to connect with the local ATL bass-playing brotherhood. I looked recently to see if there was a Meetup group, but didn't find one. Anyway, trjazzluva05, welcome to Atlanta! |

Joe Reda (he's like the Will Lee of ATL, great session player)
Tommy Vickery (one of the hardest working guys in ATL, plays with Jerry Lee and the GT's)
Darren Michaels (solo bassist, also works at the Atlanta bass gallery)
Kevin Scott (works 7 days a week, runs the ATL Funk Society and best jazz jam sessions in town at the 5-Spot on Tuesdays)
Dustin Sargent (blues bassist, was on the road with Chris Duarte)
Steve Mays (HIm and I have subb'd countless gigs for each other, has played with everyone in town)
Greg High (hard working cat, last auditioned bassist and was hired by Ray Charles right before he died)
Jon Schwenke (another cat that has played with nearly everyone in the southeast, hard working guy, 7-nights a week)
Joseph Patrick Moore (ARU, Bruce Hampton and spent time on the road with Earl Klugh & Chris Duarte)
Todd Smallie (Derek Trucks bassist for 15+ years)
Scott Glaser (has done the gig with Earl Klugh, great DB player)
These guys are great networking sources as far as bassists are concerned. The Tuesday jam at The 5-Spot is a great one with great players, very good environment to network and get some band contacts together. |
