As the title states I just wanted to know some bassists that use delay. I am thinking about getting a delay pedal so I just wanted to hear some delay in action. thanks |

It's an interesting effect for bass and one that takes some time and work to find a use for in most bands. I would highly suggest not getting one until you've played with one for a while and have found a legitimate use for it - otherwise you'll just be wasting money. |

Chris Squire used delay on a bunch of stuff with Yes & on his first solo album.
Mick Karn (he had a DigiTech DSP128 when I saw him live years ago). |

The strings on Gilmour's bass were dead, but the roadie he sent to fetch new strings ran off with a groupie, so he recorded with dead strings, Water's strings were brand new

The first bass with crispy strings was played by Dave and Waters had to settle for the dead ones. Anyway, a great and innovative stuff. I especially love the part where the cutting tremolo hacks the bassline to bits. |

But they're cheaply constructed, and on two occasions the stomp buttons needed to be repaired (NOT ONLY did I baby this baby, but I kept her in the box when not in use from day one).
Now I'm using an MXR Carbon Copy. Not nearly as many options as the DL4, but warm as hell and even easier to use.
EDIT: I misunderstood this thread. Still, my comments stand true.

I use the preset on my Zoom, dial it in at low wetness and gives the bass a full sound in a band setting. |
