Bassists Who use 6 strings in a blues trio

Sign in to disble this ad
hey guys just was wondering if anyone knows any bassists who play in a blues trio type setting who use a 6 string. i know it doesn't seem to be the stereotypical bass for blues but i bet you could do some really groven stuff with one. let me know of any guys you can think of, also the bands they play with would be cool.

thanks
Dan

I took a 6-string fretless to a blues gig once.
Band leader said, where is your fender?
I hope its in your car?

John Jordan used to play a 7 string custom Conklin with Chris Duarte. Jordan was a smokin' player. He's doing some jazz stuff now. You should hear the tone he got out of that thing!

me!!

By default though, I only have a sixer right now, my F. I have played on and off with three blues bands in the last year, and they seem to dig it alright. A little aprehensive at first, but once we start playing, its cool. Blues is about as trad as it gets for bassists and basses, maybe I've been lucky with open minded bands. Then again, maybe that explains the on and off!!!

Last time I saw Robben Ford his bass player was Dwayne Pate, a very hot player with a Tobias (pre gibson ) six.
