I was just listening to the new Incubus album and all I can say is that this has to be the best work I've heard Ben do with Incubus to date!

I mean if you haven't go to their myspace page and just give their song "Dig" a listen.

I was really dissapointed when Dirk Lance left but I'm just totally blow away by Ben's tone and his melody he uses!

Any other fans?

His lines are the only thing that I like about the new cd. Incubus was really a better band with dirk, not saying that he was the reason that thy were better.

I agree. Just my opinion, but I'm not really a fan of their music now.

I don't even like the new Incubus record. They were my favorite band for years. I think Alex really made the band, but I still loved Crow Left of the Murder. This one just didn't do it for me.

He's a great bassist (if you haven't heard it, try to find one of his solos from the crow tour), Einziger (sp) is a great guitarist, and the drummer is a great drummer. That being said, singerboy is a piece of crap lately, and I don't like the direction the band is going.

Ben's playing has grown on me immensely.

I've got nothing but good things to say about him.

Kenneys tone is ok on the recordings, live however it is just painful to hear. Dirk was just a much better bass player and much better for Incubus. Mike Einziger remains one of my favourite guitarists ever.

Wow, Incubus has completely lost their balls. As for Ben's playing it is nothing compared to Alex's.

Good Incubus

I really don't think they've lost their balls-just going in a new direction with their music and doing a lot of maturing?

Check this out

And I've noticed that Mike has gone exclusively to old Fender guitars and dropped the PRS's wonder what all that was about?

I don't think mature is the word that discribes slow and boring.

Well if that's how you see-but we can't listen to the slappity-slap of "Redefine" or "Certain Shade of Green" forever now can we?

I think he plays some very unusual bass. Almost guitarlike but still keeping the groove.
Diamonds and Coal for example... actually quite "basic" but it's more melodic than your average rocksong-bassline.

And i think that A kiss to send us off, is a really good song, that maybe on eday will find a place in a best-off incubus compilation.

I don't really compare Dirk and Ben.....they're both dang fine players, and I try not to compare.....it's like....I like wine, but I like White Zin just as much as a Cab, ya know? Yeah, Dirk was more "bassy" a player, but Ben brings another color to the mix, and you gotta love that in and of itself. If you don't, meh, just enjoy Dirk's work then. I think the change has made Incubus a little more abstract, but I like that, so I love both versions
