Ben Shepard tone

I want to get a sound like Soundgarden's Ben Shepard on the album Badmotorfinger. Listen to the track Slaves and Bulldozers to get an idea of the sound. Anyone know what bass / amp he used? I think my SVT-II sounds kinda like his tone...

He didn't use Ampeg. During "Badmotorfinger" he used Peavey like Chris and Kim. When they switched to Mesa so did Ben.

Ben used Fender P-bassess with Dean Markley flats. He mostly played with his fingers and sometimes with a pic. Peavey amps/cabs and then later Mesa. He also used a Dunlop wah and Mesa V-twin overdrive (Superunknown and Down on the Upside). What overdrive he used on "Badmotorfinger" I don't know.
