The best bass player of South America playing simple straight 8ths but sounds awesome

Guillermo Vadala....He is outstanding
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uux4xtkLke0

He is playing only stright 8ths, it is from a sessiong pop singer album...Why does it sound so great!!
He grooves with that 8th notes!! The first time I hear this kind of thing...I can`t find examples like this in music of the US, something that simple but played so groovy and so precise.
He plays roots in a very original way!
Why does this sound so great????
He is playing those 8ths on top of the beat????
It is so simple but so tricky at the same time
Awesome simply awesome IMO Give it a listen please!

Sounds good because he's right in the pocket with good tone and by not doing anything to mess up the groove.

I am not refering to this bass line as his best bass work, this is how he approaches a smple bass line only

There are lots of vids in youtube. Just put these 2 as reference:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjMKk...eature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srUbL...eature=related

Vadala is considered as one of the best bass players in Argentina together with Javier Malosetti.

Vadala's wife (Nerina Nicrota ) is also a bass player and his former student. She is now playing with Luis A. Spinetta and is playing with him in one one of the vids above.

Sorry Pedroims. To tell the truth I never listened Vadala's repertoire. I know about him cause he is pretty famous locally and chose those links randomly.
But for what I know he plays fusion, rock and is sometimes hired to play Pop as the OP link shows.
