Question Best P-Bass Tone In Rock?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey! This thread is for any all P-Bass guys (or girls) out there.

Which bassist or bassists do you think has(have) the best P-Bass tone in Rock?

I'll just throw a few of my favorites out there:

-Mike Dirnt(Green Day)
-Matt Freeman(Rancid)
-Dan Andriano(Alkaline Trio)
-Mark Hoppus(Blink-182)

For me, it's budgie (burke shelley).

I LOVE this tone.

Steve Harris (Iron Maiden) always has an awesome sound - clanky and agressive from brand new FLATWOUNDS (go figure).
Tim Bogert had an amazingly kickass distorted tone on the BBA album.

They all sound the same to me. One pickup, one tone control. Not much variance if you ask me. The only one that is remotely unique to me is Entwistle's P on "Live at Leeds."
