Hi fellow Talkbass members! I'd like to hear your opinion of the best session bassist(s)!
My favourites are Chuck Rainey, Abraham Laboriel and Lee Sklar!
How 'bout you?

| | | | Tricky to say without bias, but in their respective fields some suggestions would be:
Joe Osbourne
Herbie Flowers
Carol Kaye
+about 300 others!

| | | | I'm my favorite session bassist. I'm always available for my sessions and tend to play stuff I like to listen to...you should probably be your own favorite session bassist, too! |

| | | | Besides the classics listed above, I think Mike Elizondo (Dr. Dre, Eminem, etc.) and Jerry "wonda" Duplessis (Wyclef, Fugees, etc.) deserve mention. Different style, but respectable nonetheless. |

I know he's done plenty but "War of the Worlds" and Sky just would not have been right without him.
Not to mention "Wild Side"

R.I.P. Carl | Doc, I could not agree with you more! Radle is a legend that belongs in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Sideman Wing.

| | | | Plus whatever it is now for herbie flowers. I saw an interview he did and he something to the effect of 'everything you play, it's got to be beautiful'. That really stuck with me.
