I haven't been on TB in a while (this thing called life seems to keep getting in the way lately!
).
Anyways, the family & I decided to take a stroll along the Asbury Park boardwalk this past Sunday. While there, we decided to stop and get a bite at the new McLoone's (formerly Howard Johnson's for those familiar with the area), right next door to Convention Hall.
On the way in, there was a flyer on the window advertising an upcoming show for this coming Friday, June 4th. A guitarist (who's name escapes me at the moment) was playing with a pickup band, including "Blue Lou" Marini (of the infamous Blues Brothers Band) on sax, and...
ANTHONY JACKSON (yes,
that Anthony Jackson) on bass!!! My jaw almost hit the floor (or the boardwalk in this case).
I have a gig that night (which I seriously considered "calling in sick" for
), so I won't be able to make it unfortunately. But for those of my TB buddies in Jersey (or the tri-state area, for that matter), I figured I'd give you all the heads up. Should be a killer place to check AJ out - small room, nice atmosphere. Good food, too!
