Blind faith, Rick Grech

I pulled out an old album I hadn't listened to in quite some time, and I really listened to "can't find my way home"
probably the first time I've ever really heard what an interesting and complex bass line Rick Grech laid down on that tune.
Anybody else here impressed with the way he tastefully backed up the 3 superstars he was playing with?

If it interests you, the deluxe 2 CD remaster set that was put out a while ago featured and electric version of "can't find my way home" that is really good. A ton of good jams are included as well.

I've been a fan of Ric Grech ever since I first heard Blind Faith.....excellent bass player who passed away too soon.

Ricks playing on the Blind Faith album is solid, root, bass playing.
Jack Bruce is a tuff act to follow.

Allen Spenner was the band's first choice, but his commitment to Joe Cocker did not allow him the time to work with BF.

I always liked Grech, but he wasn't what I'd call one of my influences. He came to Blind Faith by way of Family (I think John Wetton replaced Grech in that band). I think Grech was better during his stint in Traffic, and he was also part of the much jazzier Ginger Baker's Air Force.

I agree, Ricks playing with traffic was much better.

John Weider was between Rick and John Wetton in the Family lineup.
Great to see someone mention Family and Baker's Air Force in one breath!!
