Bobby Vega - Amazing Solo CD

For those who haven't discovered this CD, I highly recommend it. It is very laid back, with an all-acoustic band (violin, percussion, etc.). I was expecting a greasy Bay Area funk album, but it is more world music than anything. (It has tinges of Irish and Americana). It also reminds me a little bit of Michael Hedges and Michael Manring but with percussion.

And the sound of his bass is a revelation: it sounds like an acoustic bass guitar and the best electric, all in one. In the liner notes it says all but one song were recorded with his '61 Jazz. I can't believe it - I have never heard a Jazz sound like that.

In that best part, is only .98c at Amazon - plus the $2.50 shipping. . .

I have that CD, I really dig it, very orchestral! I got it about ten years ago, I'm a big fan of Bobby Vega's playing! My only gripe is that it's too short, only about a half hour.
