Just listened to his lessons on www.bassplayer.tv. Damn, what a funky player!

First time a bassist makes me want to play with a pick.

The Bobby Vega clips were a blast! It is a treat to see a guy play from back in the day. It is also great to see so much of what he can do that we might not see in a concert.

Vega must be bad - who else held the same bass chair as Larry Graham and Rocco Prestia at separate times?

I can see why TOP hired him to sub for Rocco! And I now see pick playing in a whole new light.

Bobby is an incredible talent and extremely versatile as well as a fun guy to hang with and he really does have his own voice in the midst of so many clones.

I don't want to be Jaco, or Marcus, or Victor. . . I want to be Bobby!

Man, he's the epitome of a great bass player, to me.

Yeah, Bobby Vega is a GREAT player

I went to see TOP at the Basie Theatre in Red Bank a few years ago when Rocco was recovering. I remember being somewhat disappointed that Rocco wasn't going to be there, and then being totally elated when I saw that Bobby Vega was filling the spot

He has some very significant groove chops .....

The funny thing is if you saw him on the street, you wouldn't figure him to be a bass player! He so doesn't look like a cat who plays like he does!!

I've loved seeing him play with Kimock. Such a good counterpart and they bring out the best in one another. So glad that they recently reunited. Not sure what the break was before-- i think it was Kimock's move to the east coast, but I'm glad to see that they broke the ice.
