One of the coolest pieces is "Munchies for Your Love". Bootsy is alive and well In Cincy. I actually wrote a letter to the Bootsy Fan club ( I'm a successful professional of near 50 ys of age, but I can hallucinate and see around corners, so what the hell), jsut to let him know that new folks dig on his work still, like You!

I have seen him live twice in the UK, first was the best at some festival, i think Phoenix festival 96, 97 or 98 (wonder years for me as i was experimenting like Bootsy did in the early days and my memory is funked up).
His Rubber band started off funkin for 20mins or so, then Bootsy walked onto the stage... backwards...teased us for another 5mins with the odd note off Mutron'd out space bass...then he spun round on the spot and funked out....H A L L E L U J A H ......you get the picture? Was the funkiest moment of my life! So much so that the crowd surge knocked the front row teeny boppers over the crowd control guards and placed me and my brethren funkateers right in the firing line of Bootsy at the front....needless to say we got "P"d on.
Could someone tab/Music Pychoticbumpschool?

For some reason, you discovering Bootsy has made my day. It's nice when people can still recognize greatness and people can still discover greats like him. I'm fairly young and it's a little scary at times when it seems that I'm the only one that appreciates this stuff, let alone even heard of it. Awesome ... keep it funky! |
