I am trying to figure our how he gets that sound! It always sounds perfect and almost inbetween slap and fingers. Solid and clean. The song that really gets me is "What so never the Dance" What a great bass line
I've seen him "spank" the bass with an open hand. Could not figure out how he was articulating so cleanly. Don't have that track so I couldn't tell you if it sounded similar to the technique I described...

Dude was good
Does he know he's no longer any good?
In addtion to CrispyDelicious list, there's a pretty good run down of his old and current equipment here;
