Bootsy Collins Bio on TV-One's "Unsung"

There is a series on cable network TV-One that tells the life story of under-appreciated artists. They have done Florence Ballard (the tragic Supreme), Minnie Ripperton, and several others. This week they are featuring Bootsy Collins.

A lot of cool footage of him playing with James Brown when he was 18. Bootsy tells the back-story to how that even came about. I won't spoil by telling the whole show, but it's a must watch if you're a bassist and can get TV-One in your area.

Peace,

James

I saw the program- nicely done. Anybody have the details/specs of his signature "space bass?" It still amazes me how certain great artists got their start by just picking up an instrument or learning a few licks from another player and next thing you know, they are playing in clubs and shows! Bootsy seems like a happy go lucky player- kind of like Verdine which is cool.

As far as James Brown goes- I once heard he'd dock the band's pay if they messed up on stage!
