Anyone here (West Coast TBers) going to see Brian Bromberg tonight 5/3 at the Vault 350 in Long Beach? The drummer in my band and I are going.

I believe so. His latest CD is all upright, it entitled ''Downright Upright''.

I am jealous! I really dig the sounds on that new CD. I wished he would get the tour date portion of his website up-to-date. I really want to catch this current tour but I guess one is supposed to divine the dates?

In Montana they have signs over bars that say,"Before engaging your mouth, make sure your mind is in gear!"

He played both electric and upright, a lot of piccolo bass playing & soloing with another bassist on the gig (didnt catch his name but it was his first time playing with Brian). Both of them were using GK heads on top of 2, SWR Goliath 4x10 cabs. Man, the tone of Brian's upright....killer!

First time Ive seen him play live, WOW! Most of the tunes he played were tunes from his recordings, ''Choices'', and ''Downright Upright''. He signed my CDs too.
