brian torff???

Anybody out there know anything about Brian Torff? I'm writing a magazine article about him and I see that he is, like, a secret in the world of jazz enthusiasts, but people who do know about him sing his praises. What makes him so good? Is there something special about the way he plays -- or what?

I discovered him at a concert here in Fairfield, CT, where he lives an invisible life.

Any comments or anecdotes would be great -- and if you wouldn't mind being quoted in the article, please let me know.

Great player - fabulous sound. I first happened across Brian Torff on a recording where he was playing with the legendary George Shearing. There is lots of info. on the web - just throw "Brian Torff" and "George Shearing" at google and see what happens…
