Joe Puerta from Ambrosia was also in Bruce Hornsby's band. Here is the current lineup of Ambrosia playing Nice, Nice, Very NIce. Great stuff.

It is keyboard bass on "That's Just the Way It Is," or at least that's the prevalent bass part on the studio version. I saw Bruce with Joe Puerta and he played the part on bass, but I can't recall if it was fretless. Jimmy Haslip cam aboard on "Harbor Lights" but I believe the current bassist is JV.
