Bryan Beller House Concert This Sat. Aug 14 in Knoxville, TN

The amazing bassist Bryan Beller will be playing in Knoxville, Tennessee this coming Saturday night, August 14, at a house concert with his wife/keyboardist/vocalist, Kira Small. All you east Tennessee bass players- this is your invitation to come out and hear the man!

The music you'll hear is predominantly Kira's R&B originals with some Motown and Stax covers thrown in. That girl can sing! Bryan will play a couple of bass features. He can probably be talked into more by us bass players in the crowd- the more the better!

The evening will start with a potluck dinner at 7 PM and Bryan and Kira will start playing at 8 and go a couple hours, with breaks. The people who are hosting the house concert are good friends of mine who have previously hosted six or seven HC evenings, including two last year for Bryan and Kira.

This is a great opportunity to see Bryan play up close. The after-show party at this place with Bryan and Kira is always a fun time. They spend the night there at the house, so they get down and put it away since they aren't driving anywhere! There aren't any other places where you can hang out with a well-known bassist like Bryan and party like this. We have had some of the best conversations out on the deck. They both have tons of stories to tell. It usually wraps up around midnight or so.

If you're interested in going, send me a private message and I'll send you directions to the house and other info.

I'll be there later in the evening. I'm playing a musical theatre gig that same evening, but will be stopping by the house concert around 10:30 for the after-show party, and hope to see a lot of Talkbass brethren from east Tenn. there!

who'd have ever thought house concerts would end up being the new rage? makes sense for small acts, though.

+1 For small groups or artists with no gigs, you can 'manufacturer' gigs in this way with the right marketing. Nice idea to get your music out there to at least a few people.

They sound great... love that modern J tone of Brian's in the 'Unchain my Heart' clip... great!
