Can I teach people bass?

I use a thumb/index/middle/ring finger picking technic when I do something like a classical guitar player would do, but like you said a little unusual and it need some cleaning, but the kid can play that's for sure.

I just question the idea of teaching is way, so that plucking technic over the usual plucking technic.
