Carlos Benavent

I was watching a DVD last night which featured Chick Corea and his band in Barcelona. The bassist is Carlos Benavent who has an extraordinary playing technique and such an unusual sound.
Do anyone out there know more about him?

He did a bunch of stuff w/ Paco de Lucia and some great stuff w/Nguyen Le where he and an amazing UBS player, Renaud Garcia Fonz, spar at each other. I'm sure there's much more if you look. He is absolutely one of a kind and I found it interesting how laid back he was on the Chick disc. That's the most reserved I've heard him play, and it's great.
