Carvin nabs yet another bassist extraordinare-Tom Barney!!!

http://www.carvinchannel.com/play.php?vid=281

Carvin's reputation is growing like a virus and the SB series is a huge reason!!! If I am blessed with another bass, it will almost certainly be a Carvin!

Those SB basses look pretty nice. I am very tempted to order one!

Hmmm - I usually don't care about who endorses what - - it's so often just about the money... But Tom Barney is something... If nothing else, it adds class to the Carvin name.

I Concur!!! I am more interested in why than who. It's interesting that both Sekou and Tom said that they were not interested in Carvin basses initially.

Will someone please just play finger style...

Let's see what he plays on tour or uses in the studio. Endorsements are one thing, using said gear on a daily basis is another.

Tom Barney is an awesome player, a bit less articulate in explaining it than he is at playing it. Good score for Carvin though.

Very cool. The funny thing is after owning a SB5000 and BX500 a while, I know exactly what he means when he references some of those cryptic things about them. They are right out of the box, sound great and are like a swiss army knife together.

I've just used this bass on a singer/songwriter project so when she's got the songs posted I'll post a link.
FWIW they're all fingerstyle. Nashville engineers love it, BTW.

TB member & my big brother, pyrohr, grew up with Tom and hangs with him frequently. He has played Tom's bass and loves it. I believe he posted a picture of him playing it here somewhere.
