Just wanted to tell all the old school funk fans here on Talk Bass that I found Cedric Martin of Con Funk Shun online. He has resurfaced on myspace. Here's his page:

http://www.myspace.com/cedric_of_confunkshun
Drop by and give him a Talk Bass welcome.

My all time favorite cuts from his discography (and recommended listening):
Candy
Got To Be Enough
Happy Face (nice mutron/q-tron tone!)
Too Tight
Lady's Wild
Ain't Nobody, Baby

He also sang co-lead on some of their best ballads:
Not Ready
Give Your Love To Me
Straight From The Heart

I saw them live once upon a time (they opened for Johnny "Guitar" Watson)...I still have 3-4 of their LPs laying around.
Good solid Funk/R&B/Pop band....Brick & The Brothers Johnson were a couple other favourites from that era.

"Ffun" was cool...more Mu-Tron funk.

It's a small world! After hearing "Got to Be Enough' on the Michael Baisden radio show last Friday, I have had Con Funk Shun on the brain. I was practicing "Got to Be Enough" last night.
