My teacher wasn't a bassist but he birthed many.

R.I.P. to THE giant of jazz education.

I knew he was sick. How did you learn this?

RIP Charlie. I loved Charlie dearly. He was a big 12 year old. His spirit just penetrated everyone he came into contact with. You studied with Charlie to learn music.

Sh*t!!!

The first time I listen to the term ' chord superimposition' was by way of Charlie B., about 15/16 years ago... What a loss!

I never met him in person and to this day I dont even know what he looks like but I studied with him via mail correspondence and it was... utterly life altering. I can still clearly hear his voice in my ears - Was there a thicker Bostonian accent on earth?

Words escape me in this hour of darkness. Charlie, if you are looking down, I am toasting you bro as you open my mind far beyond my highest expectations.

God bless you sir and finally after systematically weaning yourself off sleep in order to remain a goal driven monster, you'll get the rest that you deserve.

I love you

Joe
