I just saw a band called BX3 here in Spokane last night.
BX 3 is Jeff Berlin, Stu Hamm and Billy Sheehan.
Along with them a really great guitarist and a smoking drummer.
Jeff started the show, then Stu and after that Billy.Three great bassists,distictly different styles, each with their own setup on stage and having fun.That was great.Some Jazz some funk some reggae,the guys were telling bassplayer jokes in between songs, Billy played Jeff Beck's Led Boots and some blazing Hi speed metal...... it was really something.
And at the end all three got up on stage together and played Big Bottom!
The bigger the cushion......

I saw the show in San Francisco last week. Jeff is just sick; I enjoyed his playing the most. I had always wanted to see him live and finally got a chance!
It's Stu's hometown, apparently he lives in my neighborhood. It was packed with bass players and Stu's friends.

BTW the guitarist and drummer are smokin!!

They were here last week but I went to the G. Love & Special Sauce show instead. Tough choice. Argh!

I did just pick up the new Bass Player magazine which has a cover article in it about Bx3.
