A fellow brother in Christ and fellow brother in the low notes passed away this morning. He was a great bassist and has played with several national acts. It's a bittersweet moment knowing that the world has lost a great bassist but yet, Heaven has acquired a great one as well. Pray for his family that they can be at peace in this time and that their needs will be met in full!!!

This is a true heartbreak for those of us in the Nashville Music Community. Chris had a big smile a heart as big as his groove, and believe me, no one had a bigger groove here in Nashville! Larry Carlton, Take 6, Lorrie Morgan and Twila Paris were among a few of the Stars and Artists who were fortunate to have him grace their shows and recordings.

Yeah, I remember listening to a raw track of him playing and was amazed at how clean his lines were. The world is short a really good bassist now. God bless his family.

Sounds like he was an excellent person and a great bass player. May he rest in peace.

It looks like some one beat me to posting the news. I used to take lessons with Chris and learned even more from copping his style and licks as much as I could from recordings. He was truly a monster bass player and musician that I will forever be influenced by.

RIP Chris Kent

Chris was one of my favorite bass players down here in Nashville. I loved hearing him play. He knew what and when to play each note and each note counted. His groove was fierce. But more than his playing, I loved his smile. He was truly a great musician and a even better man. RIP Chris Kent
