Chris Squire tone with a 6 string? You betcha

...with the help of some tubes and my TS9DX.
At the moment, I can't post sound clips, sadly .
If I play my Spector (see sig) through an Ibanez TS9DX, into my Ampeg SVT-CL (slight nudge to mids and highs, ultra hi engaged), into my SWR 12 stack, I say it gets pretty dang close .
I've been trying, with every bass I get, to see how close they can come to getting "that" tone. So far, this is the single combo that got me there. See profile for previous gear if you must .
I haven't owned a Ric, yet. Unless they decide to start making a 6 string bass, I doubt I will also. So I've been seeking alternate methods. Why? Because I can.
I'm sure there's a million combos of amps, cabs, pedals and players that can nail the tone, but this is the first that I have with any setup I've had. Go me? Go me!

Now if only I can translate "my" tone from my head to my speakers, I'd be set. So close... oh so close!

Glad you've had such pleasing results! If you ever do get some sound clips made I'd love to hear them!
