Christian McBride has been one of my bass guitar hero's for well over 15 years now. The very first time I saw him playing, on BET (Black Entertainment Television) with his black jazz bass, I was hooked on his style.

He made his rep as a superb double bassist, and he's been on probably close to 1,000 jazz recordings.

Last time I saw him live, he was touring with Pat Metheny's Trio (with Antonio Sanchez on drums). Terrific group.
