Last I read where he discussed what he was spec'ing on them these days, the extra thick bodies and extra big headstocks stood out in my mind. Some are really thick with just a single Bill Lawrence pup and a volume control like so many of the nu metal guitarists are playing.
Wouldn't want to see them get confused by 2 pups and three controls.

Nonetheless, I agree with Bass Player - "....Olde Wolbers, suddenly being on the road with and up and coming nu metal band....". Come to think of it, I've seen their guitarist using a one-pickup, one-knob, wonder slamming out detuned barre chords with a "vocalist" who sounds like he's getting a jalapeno enema......sure seems nu metal to me.
Anyway, what does it really matter, except to the band and their label???

| Haven't heard it yet. That could put a whole new spin on whatever genre they get thrown into. Hell, did Fieldy ever put out his hip-hop CD this past summer?

This wasn't some rumor, others had read it besides myself. In fact, there was a thread last spring about it, (funny as all get out, too).
Kind of a shame, (in a perverse sort of way), he would put down the bass, too. No matter whether how you feel about his playing, there's going to be a lot of bassists in the future who are going to say he was one of their influences. I've seen lots of young guys on TB starting threads asking "how does he get that clicking sound?"
Developing a pedal that makes your bass sound like a cricket may be highly profitable!

I had an opportunity to spend a day with him last December both at the FF rehearsal studio and Christian's home in LA. He's really a cool dude and a great player.
