chuck mangione's bassist (recording)

I'm curious to know who the bassist was for Chuck Mangione's album "Feel so good".

Again it's a distinctive P-bass sound.

I am assuming the bassist was different when he recorded "Give it all you got", the bassist yields a much modern tone and playing style.

Argh. I should know that. I remember it was a pretty heavy set guy, and he was really good. Ralph Armstrong maybe?

That would be Charles "Meat Man" Meeks, one of the greats!

Not only did Charles "MeetMan Meeks do some great stuff with Chuck he also did some real good stuff with Earl Klugh, however if you can find Chuck Mangione Live, check out the one track Children of Sanchez.Charles really sits in the pocket on this tune albeit a tune in cut-time.Great stuff from a World Class player.

Charles "Meat Man" Meeks is one of my favorite bassists!

The solo on "Hide and Seek" from the Live at the Hollywood bowl record got me hooked!
