Chuck Rainey in the audience!!!!

I'd heard he was gonna be in town(Austin) for NAMM but never figured on seeing him. Mid-song I'm scanning the audience, just looking around, it was a new venue, our first time there, and then I see THE Chuck Rainey watching me! Yikes. Very intimidating.

I'll say! Did you get a chance to meet him? He's truly one of the greats!

My bet is that he found your performance to be just fine. Chuck seems to be a genuinely supportive sort of dude and as long as you weren't up there 'hackin' it up, he probably dug what you were doing. Not that I know... but he just seems like that sort of guy. But talk about gut-wrenching! I would have probably lost it!

I didn't get to meet him unfortunately, he left during our next-to-last song(it was past 1AM), but he gave a little wave and a thumbs-up. I really would have liked to had a picture and chatted for a bit.

Simultaneously scary AND cool!

Well, you can take pride in the fact that he stuck around almost to the end.
