Chuck Rainey is in hospital tonight.

Just got a call from a friend in Fort Worth that Chuck Rainey is in the hospital who suffered a stroke last night in Bedford Tx, and is in ICU .Prayers go out to him and a hopeful speedy recovery.

Chuck is one of my inspirations. His bass playing on Steely Dan's "Aja" is a high point in bass guitar history IMO. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I think Mr. Rainey is 70 or 71, but he always has looked quite vigorous to me. I pray that he has the strength to recover and play because I fear that not being able to play would be very, very hard on a man of his ability.

Praying for Chuck's quick recovery. He is not only a great bass player and great musician, he is also a wonderful human being.

Definitely one of my favourites...1st time I ever heard Rainey was on Joe Walsh's Barnstorm album (an album I got for Xmas, 1973).

Prayers for Chuck & his family.
