Just got this from Amy and Joe of Clatter:

Hey everyone,

We're back! There's a new roof on the house, the gardens are sprouting, and we're back in the chicken house revisiting past Clatter songs and coming up with a bunch of new rockin' ideas! As we continue work on a new recording, we thought it would be fun to film a few videos explaining the origins and implementation of some of Amy's bass lines from past albums. But we need your help! We want to be sure to pick songs that are of interest to you, so if you have a favorite bass part you'd like to see demonstrated, let us know! We will be filming the three songs that get the most votes and plan to post the videos on YouTube throughout the month of May (hint: if you become a subscriber of our YouTube channel you'll be notified when new videos are posted).

To vote, please e-mail us up to three songs from either "Blinded By Vision" or "Monarch." There are also polls going at the Harmony Central Bass Forum and Ugly Bass Player, so if you're a member you can just vote there. If you'd like to hear samples of the songs, you can go to our web site or iTunes. Voting will end on Sunday, May 3 at midnight. Here are some popular bass lines to help you choose:

From "Blinded By Vision:"

Left Out
Nevsky Prospekt
Starve
Black Karma
Choke

From "Monarch:"

House of Trouble
For Her
Far From Romance
Monarch

We're currently redesigning the entire Clatter web site from scratch (including, believe it or not, the long-promised members-only section!) so be watching for the site in the next week or so! As we get closer to the release of the new album we'll have more info on upcoming shows and tours. We look forward to seeing everyone out there!

And if you're in central Missouri in July, come see Amy (and hear Joe's sound effects) in the new musical "Gumbo Bottoms: A Big Muddy Musical" on July 18 at the Miller Performing Arts Center in Jefferson City.

Hope you're well and have a happy spring!

P.S. In the market for a 1970s fretless Rickenbacker bass? Let us know!
