| I saw Metallica live in June, and they totally blew me away! Based on 2003 footage I saw of 'em, I was expecting them to be crap, but still have a good laugh. But they sounded great, played great and got a great response. They just stood looking at the crowd for about 10 minutes when they finished their encore. Their faces were priceless. Rob-''This is my favourite gig... ever!''
I saw Stone Sour and Alice in Chains as well that day, both blew me away but 'Tallica blew them outta the water!
I don't see why they purposely turned down Jason's bass and gave his such a tough time. I remember Lars'(does anyone else in the band talk?) talking about the time they recruited Jason. It went something like-''I just remember this guy with a great energy and vibe and was so immensely talented'' Jason was a great guy and bass player.
But Cliff was great, sure his death made him look larger then he was, but he's be the first to say it. He was my favourite for a good long while but now I prefer Rob's stlye. Although Cliff was a mazing, he just sounded like a guitar at times and I really hate when bass players do that. I saw Cliff 'Em All a few times and he was great onstage and shredded like nobody else in the thrash/metal genre.
If Cliff was alive today, he would've left Metallica. Around 1989/1990 I would think.
