I recently found this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Qm1XrZI0zY What do you guys think of him? And I'd also want to see if anyone has any info on gear that he's using.

I like him a lot, but they are my favourite band ever.

I'm also a very big Radiohead fan so take this with a grain of salt, but I think Colin is a fantastic player. Very groove oriented, he's said that Jamerson and Duck Dunn were big influences along with guys like Peter Hook. I always get the impression he could do a lot more (check out his 16th note run to the 5/4 beat of "15 Step") but that he is all about serving the music. To me Radiohead has always been a band of good musicians that are far more than the sum of their parts.

As for gear, around that time Colin was playing a MusicMan Sterling. He used a GK 800RB live but who knows if that was what he recorded with. I know he's used a B-15 in the studio, a tone that is quite evident on the In Rainbows tracks, but his live tone is very different. Live he's just massive.

I want to say he played that line on his Stingray. I could always hear the slap bass in the song and had seen it live, but never this clear. Thanks for posting.
