And Thom Yorke said something along the lines of, the bass line in "Exit Music" makes the song, and I completely agree. It adds such a dark twisted feel to the song, it really adds such a different feel to the song, AND I LOVE I!!!! But that's really what Colin is a master of. He doesn't necessarily create the most technically amazing lines, but there are few bassists who can add as much to the music as he does. The infamous riff on "The National Anthem", the simplistic upright playing on "You and Whose Army?", the line that creates the whole feel in "Nude", and of course everything on OK Computer is as close to perfect as you can get. Definitely an underrated musical mastermind. And definitely a huge influence to me, and one of my favorite bassists.
+ 1 "Airbag" is a perfect example of less being more. A lesser musician would have filled that song with more notes and it would have sounded ok but his sparse note placement and the space created helps build the song and creates a great tension. Colin is a great musician and not merely the guy who plays the bass in the band. His tone and playing is different in every song which is a sign of a player who really thinks about his contribution to the overall sound of the band.

Greenwood is my all time favorite and a huge influence on my playing style.

He serves each and every song. Nothing super flashy or obnoxious, just solid rhythm while still remaining creative. Love his tone as well. He is the reason I considered Ashdown when I was in the market for a new rig several years ago.

Another huge fan - His lines are the epotime of creativity and have a certain evasive complexity.

I know I am very late to the party, but what is Greenwoods amp setup these days. I have been watching some live footage, and it seems like he's using the P, SVT(Vintage or VR?), and the standard Ampeg 8x10. He takes after my own heart if so. Simple, and straight to the point. Plug and play, with very little effects. Maybe I am wrong there, though.
