Jayson James of "Romeo's Dead" thinks he invented cool sometimes and I've told him he's wrong about that and all yet he refuses to believe me which makes him a cool azz mofo too because "true cool knows no competition" as he would say...LOL...whatever...nice hair...

Doug Pinnick. And he's one of the nicest, kindest guys I've ever met. I once wrote him about a career crisis I had over my age and he wrote back one of the greatest emails I ever got and it gave me the strength to keep going on in this ridiculous business.

But yeah, he's a bit angry, and with good reason. He is one of the greatest bassist/singer/songwriters to have ever lived, yet despite that, he has faced lots of discrimination. Discrimination because he's black and plays rock and roll, discrimination because he's gay and plays rock and roll, discrimination because he's 55 and plays rock and roll. So yeah, he has every right to be mad. But through it all, he's managed to perservere, and while King's X never took their rightful place as one of the all-time greatest-selling rock bands, he gets through it because of the fanatical devotion of King's X fans and undying respect from his peers.

Anyway, sorry to preach, but there's a lot more to Doug than just looking angry. He's truly one of the most wonderful people ever put on this planet, and I will always be grateful he took the time to write me and make me feel better about my own life, and when he's got so much to be bitter about, he still takes the time to be a nice guy.

+ 1 on Doug Pinnick...met him at the Yamaha booth at NAMM a few years ago at an autograph table with King's X...what a humble human bean he was..I had the distict impression that he was embarassed to be signing autographs yet anyone who's ever heard him play has to bow to his creativity and talent.

Marcus has good biceps & deltoids and he can play the bass pretty good too but for 'coolest looking'... my pick is Paul Simonon of The Clash:

Stefan Olsdal, of Placebo, the picture isn't very good, but if you've ever seen Placebo play live, you know what I'm talking about!

Basses... Bassists... I know they sound the same, but they're two different forums.

Moved.
